Dr. Sujit Kumar Bala is a retired professor from the Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM) at BUET. 

Research Areas

Dr. Sujit Kumar Bala is a retired professor from BUET’s Institute of Water and Flood Management (IWFM). His research focuses on water resources management, flood mitigation, climate adaptation, and humanitarian engineering. He integrates interdisciplinary approaches, including gender perspectives, to develop sustainable solutions for vulnerable and disaster-prone regions.

Dr. Bala has extensive experience in leading national and international research projects on climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, and agricultural water management. His work combines hydrological modeling, river basin management, remote sensing applications in agriculture, and sustainable infrastructure development.
