University Road itself does not award degrees. All degrees and academic qualifications are awarded by the respective partner universities, which maintain their own accreditation, regulatory approvals, and quality assurance frameworks. UR supports delivery, academic preparation, and progression pathways within these accredited structures.

Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)

Partner institution International American University (IAU) is a member of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is currently a candidate for ACBSP accreditation of its business and accounting programmes.

 

IAU is a member of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and is a candidate for ACBSP accreditation of its business programs and for separate accreditation of its accounting program. ACBSP is a leading specialized accreditation body for business education. ACBSP’s global mission is to pursue a better tomorrow by advancing and recognizing excellence in business education through continuous improvement. ACBSP’s global vision is to see every business program of quality accredited and pursuing continuous improvement. ACBSP accredits business, accounting, and business-related programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctorate degree levels. Recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in 2001 and again in 2011, ACBSP was the first to offer specialized business accreditation at all degree levels and the first to offer certificate accreditation. ACBSP currently accredits business programs at more than 1,200 campuses in 60 countries.

IAU is listed in the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) database of institutions accredited by recognised U.S. accrediting organisations. CHEA recognition signifies that accrediting bodies have undergone quality review processes and meet established standards for higher education quality assurance.

 

IAU is currently listed on the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) database of institutions accredited by recognized U.S. accrediting organizations. TRACS is a CHEA-recognized accrediting organization. To be “recognized” means that the accreditors in the database have been reviewed by CHEA or U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and meet the quality standards of the respective organizations.

Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS)

International American University (IAU) holds Accredited Status as a Category IV institution awarded by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) Accreditation Commission. The accreditation was initially granted on October 26, 2020, and subsequently reaffirmed, reflecting continued compliance with institutional quality standards.

 

​IAU is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) having been awarded Accredited Status as a Category IV institution by the TRACS Accreditation Commission on October 26, 2020; this status is effective for a period of five (5) years. TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

Regional Accreditation

The University of West Alabama (UWA) is an accredited public university in the United States and collaborates with University Road in supporting academic pathways and curriculum alignment.

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)

UWA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award:

  • Doctoral degrees

 

SACSCOC is the regional accreditation body responsible for ensuring academic quality and institutional effectiveness among higher education institutions across the Southern United States and approved international locations. Accreditation by SACSCOC signifies that the institution maintains appropriate academic resources, clearly defined educational objectives, and quality assurance systems aligned with higher education standards.

 

This accreditation ensures that academic programmes associated with UWA maintain strong recognition within the U.S. and internationally.

Euro American Institute (EAI), Malta

European Accreditation & Regulatory Recognition

The EuroAmerican Institute (EAI), Malta, is an internationally oriented higher education institution offering European qualifications that are approved and recognised by the Government of Malta. EAI is accredited and licensed by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) under Licence Number 2024–032 as a Higher Education Institution. This accreditation authorises the institute to offer programmes at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate levels (Levels 6, 7, and 8) under both the Maltese Qualifications Framework (MQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

MFHEA serves as Malta’s national regulatory authority responsible for maintaining academic standards, accrediting higher education programmes, and ensuring institutional compliance with national and European quality assurance requirements. The authority operates within the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ESG 2015), strengthening academic quality and international recognition across the European Higher Education Area.

Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA)

EAI is licensed and accredited as a Higher Education Institution by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) under Licence Number 2024-032. MFHEA is the national regulatory authority responsible for quality assurance and accreditation of higher education institutions in Malta.

MFHEA accreditation allows EAI to offer programmes aligned with:

  • Maltese Qualifications Framework (MQF)
  • European Qualifications Framework (EQF)

Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA)

The EuroAmerican Institute (EAI), Malta, is a recognised higher education institution offering internationally respected European qualifications. European Higher Education Area (EHEA)

As part of the European Higher Education Area, EAI programmes operate within the Bologna Process framework, ensuring compatibility of degrees and credits across European countries through the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). This enhances student mobility and international academic recognition.

European Higher Education Area (EHEA)

The European Higher Education Area (EHEA) represents a collaborative framework in higher education that brings together 49 member countries across Europe and beyond. Institutions operating within the EHEA follow the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), which establishes a common structure for recognising academic credits, programmes, and qualifications across participating countries.

Through this collaboration, member countries implement higher education reforms based on shared principles such as academic freedom, institutional autonomy, freedom of expression, independent student representation, and the mobility of students and academic staff. This coordinated approach enables institutions and education systems to continuously improve compatibility, strengthen quality assurance practices, and enhance the international recognition and transparency of higher education qualifications.

European and Worldwide Accreditations

The EuroAmerican Institute (EAI), Malta, operates within the European higher education framework, with Malta being a member of the European Union since 2004 and part of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) since 2010. Under Higher Education Institution Licence No. 2024–032, granted by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), EAI is authorised to offer programmes up to Doctoral Level (Level 8) under both the Maltese Qualifications Framework (MQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). The MFHEA licence is aligned with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), enabling the transferability and recognition of academic credits and qualifications across the European Union and other compatible education systems.

Malta’s participation in the Bologna Process further supports the comparability and recognition of qualifications, ensuring that degrees awarded within this framework are widely recognised across Europe and internationally. In addition, the Lisbon Recognition Convention (ETS No. 165) facilitates the recognition of higher education qualifications among approximately 57 signatory countries, promoting academic mobility and progression opportunities. At a global level, the UNESCO Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education (2019) strengthens international recognition by encouraging mutual acceptance of qualifications approved by national accreditation authorities, thereby supporting global academic and professional mobility for graduates.

The Bologna Process is a cooperative agreement among European countries designed to align higher education standards and improve the compatibility of academic qualifications across Europe. This initiative led to the creation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), allowing students to transfer credits more easily and supporting recognition of degrees between institutions and countries.

Through this process, participating countries follow key commitments that promote consistency and quality in higher education. These include the adoption of a three-cycle degree structure consisting of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate levels, recognition of qualifications under the Lisbon Recognition Convention, and the application of quality assurance practices based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG). These measures support international academic mobility and help ensure that qualifications are widely recognised across Europe and beyond.

 

ENIC–NARIC Networks

ENIC-NARIC Networks

The ENIC–NARIC Networks represent a collaboration between national information centres responsible for the recognition of higher education qualifications across more than 50 countries. These networks operate under the principles of the Lisbon Recognition Convention, supporting transparency and international acceptance of academic qualifications.

The European Network of Information Centres (ENIC) was established in cooperation with UNESCO and the Council of Europe to promote fair recognition practices and academic mobility. The National Academic Recognition Information Centres (NARIC) Network, supported by the European Commission, performs a similar role within the European Union.

As the EuroAmerican Institute (EAI) is accredited and licensed by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), graduates may seek international recognition of their qualifications through ENIC–NARIC centres worldwide, supporting further study and professional opportunities across different countries.

 

World Education Services (WES)

World Education Services

Programmes offered by the EuroAmerican Institute (EAI), Malta, are officially licensed and accredited by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (MFHEA), the national authority responsible for maintaining quality standards in higher education within the European Higher Education Area.

Qualifications awarded under MFHEA accreditation are widely recognised and commonly receive positive evaluation outcomes from World Education Services (WES), a leading international credential assessment organisation. This recognition supports graduates in pursuing further education, professional licensing, and career opportunities internationally.

EAI is also a registered WES Digital Partner, enabling secure electronic transmission of verified academic records directly to WES. This process enhances efficiency, ensures authenticity, and supports faster credential verification for students and graduates.

 

European Commission

European Commission

The European Commission serves as the executive body of the European Union and plays an important role in supporting education policies, quality standards, and mobility initiatives across member states. It oversees key education initiatives, including the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), which facilitates recognition of study credits between institutions.

Countries within the European Higher Education Area follow shared quality assurance standards known as the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG 2015), helping ensure consistent academic quality and transparency across European higher education systems.

 

The EuroAmerican Institute (EAI), Malta, operates under Maltese laws and regulatory requirements as a licensed higher education institution. Academic documents, including diplomas and transcripts, are authenticated and registered by a Maltese public notary. Where required, documents may also be issued with an Apostille, confirming their legal authenticity for international use under the 1961 Hague Convention.

For countries not covered by the Hague Convention, documents may be further authenticated through the relevant embassy or consulate, ensuring international acceptance of qualifications awarded by EAI.

Forward International Academy (FIA)

Forward International Academy (FIA) operates in alignment with recognized educational standards to ensure quality, credibility, and academic integrity in the delivery of its American curriculum.

FIA is listed with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), confirming that the school meets the educational requirements and standards established for institutions operating within the state of Wisconsin, USA. This recognition supports the academy’s commitment to maintaining academic quality and delivering a structured American high school education to students globally.

 

In addition, FIA is progressing toward Cognia Accreditation, a globally recognized accreditation body that evaluates educational institutions based on continuous improvement, academic performance, and institutional effectiveness. The Cognia accreditation process reflects FIA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening educational quality, student outcomes, and international recognition.
